This singer’s performance was so electrifying, it had the judges completely lose control—dancing on the table and throwing all caution, and dignity, out the window!

Imagine stepping onto one of Britain’s most beloved talent show stages, surrounded by a host of incredible singers. How do you stand out in such a sea of talent? This was the challenge Sue Moretta faced as she prepared for her audition on Britain’s Got Talent. Confident in her vocal abilities and her knack for captivating an audience, Sue knew she needed a plan to leave a lasting impression.

Her strategy? Make an unforgettable entrance.

While hosts Ant and Dec searched for her backstage, Sue was already planning her big debut. As the final contestant of the day, she had the opportunity to command the full attention of the judges and audience. When the moment arrived, music erupted, the stage doors flung open, and Sue appeared, microphone in hand, ready to dazzle.

Starting her performance in the audience, Sue launched into a lively rendition of Don’t Rain On My Parade, making her way to the stage. Draped in a shimmering sequined dress and a boa scarf, she brought Barbra Streisand’s classic to life, captivating the room. The crowd clapped, sang along, and even danced, swept up in her energetic performance.

A classically trained singer with decades of experience, Sue had nearly given up on her dream after 40 years without her big break. However, a touching discovery reignited her passion. Among her late mother Margaret’s belongings, Sue found a heartfelt letter addressed to Simon Cowell. In it, Margaret praised her daughter’s talent and expressed her wish for Simon to hear her sing.

Initially, Sue had discouraged her mother from sending the letter, as she was contemplating retirement. But after finding it again, her mother’s words struck a chord. “My daughter has a great voice. I’d like you to hear it—it would make my life,” Margaret had written. Inspired by her mother’s unwavering belief in her, Sue decided to give singing one last chance.

“I did it for my mum,” Sue shared. “I read it and thought, ‘Go on then, I’ll give it one more go.’”

Her performance earned a standing ovation and four yeses from the judges—Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams. While awaiting the results of the deliberations, Sue remained hopeful. “I can’t imagine them saying no. In my head, I just won’t hear it,” she said.

Although she didn’t advance to the finals, Sue’s audition became a turning point. Now, with a manager organizing gigs for her, Sue performs professionally while also teaching singing. The mother of four and grandmother of five continues to inspire with her story of perseverance.

Of course, her audition wouldn’t be complete without a touch of humor. At one point, judge David Walliams leapt onto the table and dropped his pants to dance, leaving Simon Cowell speechless and the audience in stitches.

Sue Moretta’s audition wasn’t just a performance; it was a celebration of talent, determination, and the power of making a bold first impression.
