A newly married couple was killed less than two days after their wedding.
The Knoxville Police reported that a deadly crash happened early Sunday at about 3 a.m. A group of three was driving on the Weisgarber exit ramp of Interstate 40 when their Dodge pickup went off the road and hit a guardrail. After they got out of the truck, a Chevy pickup hit both their Dodge and them, resulting in the tragic deaths of all three at the scene. The Chevy driver had minor injuries and went to the hospital.
Jessiah Plemons and Lily Rose were just starting their love story and enjoying life. Lily was known for her bubbly and fun personality, bringing happiness to everyone around her. Her cousin, August McClelland, remembers her as someone who loved making TikTok videos with friends and family. “Lily was the life of our family. She would light up the room with her laughter,” said her aunt, Selena McClelland.
Jessiah loved music, and it showed in what he did. He took Lily to her first concert and gave her her first guitar. While he learned the drums, Lily learned to play the guitar, bringing them closer together. Even though he struggled with addiction, Jessiah turned his life around and focused on helping others with similar issues. He sponsored people facing addiction, shared his story in local jails, and impacted many lives. His mother, Michelle Plemon, remembered him as a kind person who always cared for others.
Lily Rose was a caring mother to her son and daughter, and she loved every moment of being a mom. Jessiah and Lily planned to combine their families and secretly got married, without telling their families. Jessiah asked his sister Milea Effler to take care of the kids on Friday, but she didn’t know why. Sadly, Milea found out about their wedding on social media and soon after learned about the tragic accident.
