Dad and twin sons cut enough firewood to fill 80 trucks – donate it all to those who need it most

Every so often, you come across an act of kindness that truly warms your heart. Whether it’s someone going above and beyond in charity or simply doing something nice with no expectation of reward, these deeds often bring a deep sense of joy.

Shane McDaniel and his twin sons, Henry and Harrison, embody that spirit. After a storm in Lake Stevens, Washington, left them with a mountain of firewood from fallen trees, the family decided to do something meaningful with it. Instead of selling the wood, they began giving it away to people in need.

As Shane explained, “Once I saw the need, my eyes were opened.” Between March and October 2018, they chopped enough firewood to fill 80 trucks, and Shane’s Facebook post asking for help to distribute it quickly gained attention. Many people volunteered to help, and the family’s generous act brought a sense of pride and community.

Shane said, “When you do good things for people, they don’t forget. I love helping people.” A simple, heartfelt way to make a difference—Shane, Henry, and Harrison, we salute you!
