Single Mom of Four Buys Used Car, Owner Tells Her to Look In Trunk When She Gets Home
Jennifer, a single mother of four, struggled financially after her husband Adam left upon learning she was pregnant with their fourth child. With no support from Adam and desperate to care for her children, she sought a job but faced many rejections due to her situation.
Finally, Jennifer landed a housekeeping job in a nearby city but needed a car for the commute. She found a used car and asked the owner, Jeff, if he could sell it for $5000. He agreed, touched by her story. Desperate to gather the money, Jennifer sold a family heirloom, her late mother’s gold necklace, to a pawnshop for $5500.
She purchased the car and, before driving home, Jeff asked her to check the trunk later. Busy with her new job and caring for her children, she forgot to check until she found a note in the glove compartment. Upon opening the trunk, she discovered the same $5000 she had paid for the car.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Jennifer returned to thank Jeff. He explained that he wanted to help her and encouraged her to “pay it forward.”
