I Heard Our Baby Crying While I Was in the Shower And My Wife Was Watching TV – When I Entered His Room, I Screamed in Shock

One evening, I rushed out of the shower to find my 3-year-old son crying, covered in red paint, while my wife remained glued to her iPad, seemingly unaware. What started as a messy incident soon revealed a deeper problem in our family.

I was frustrated—my wife had been oblivious to our son’s distress. When I confronted her, she shrugged it off, saying she had tried to calm him. But our son had claimed she never checked on him, and that troubled me.

The next morning, I left with our son, heading to my sister’s house. I called my mother-in-law, seeking answers. After speaking with her, she revealed that my wife had been struggling with depression, feeling overwhelmed by the pressures of motherhood.

It was a wake-up call. I hadn’t noticed how deeply she was suffering. I realized I needed to stay and support her through this.

In the weeks that followed, my wife began therapy, slowly reconnecting with her passions and rebuilding her bond with our son. One evening, she apologized for everything, and I saw the woman I had fallen in love with.

We’re not perfect, but we’re healing together.
